Directed by Kim Suk-won, "The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure" is a South Korean adventure film that brings together a talented ensemble cast, including Kang Ha-neul, Lee Kwang-soo, and Kim Sung-kyun. The movie takes place in the 17th century and follows the story of a group of pirates who embark on a perilous journey to find the last royal treasure of the Joseon Dynasty.

The narrative kicks off when Woo Moo-chi (Kang Ha-neul), the leader of a group of bandits, is rescued at sea by a pirate captain named Hae-rang (Han Hyo-joo). While trying to coexist on the same ship, they discover a map pointing to a massive hoard of royal gold. However, their quest is hindered not only by the treacherous ocean and internal rivalries (fueled heavily by Lee Kwang-soo’s comedic, betraying character, Mak-yi) but also by Bu Heung-soo (Kwon Sang-woo), a ruthless rebel who wants the treasure to fulfill his own political ambitions.
